PRIVACY POLICY The Airship Association exists to serve its members and in that context this policy has been developed to explain our data processing practices and members’/customers’ options regarding the ways in which personal data is used. If you have any requests concerning your personal information or any queries with regard to our processing please contact Information collected The Airship Association collects the details provided by you on election to membership together with information we learn about you from your use of our services and your visits to our web site. We also collect information about the transactions you undertake on our ‘Airship Shop’ secure Internet credit card trading site, but not details of payment cards so used. We do collect details of payment cards used in purchasing items offered for sale by the Airship Association when those details are furnished as a part of any direct interaction our staff may have with you. For instance, you may wish to purchase an item face-to-face with one of our staff at a conference or by telephone or by fax. In those circumstances your credit card details are recorded until such time as the transaction has been processed over a securely encrypted communications line through The payment card details are then destroyed securely. We may collect additional information in connection with your participation in any promotions, conferences or symposia offered by us and information you provide when giving us feedback. We also monitor visitor traffic patterns and site use (but not individual details) which enables us to improve the service we provide. Use of your information and your preferences We will use your information to help improve and personalise our service. We will also use your contact details to communicate with you and to send you (if you are a member) AIRSHIP - The Journal of the Airship Association. We may use your information to send you offers and news about Airship Association products and services. Please note that there may be instances where it may be necessary for us to communicate with you, in any event, for administrative or operational reasons relating to our service. We may contact you by post, email, telephone or fax for these purposes. We like to hear your views to help us improve our facilities. From time to time, we may contact you by post, email, telephone or fax to ask your opinions. Disclosures of your information We will never pass your personal data to anyone else without your express permission in each case, except for any successors in title to our organisation and suppliers that process data on our behalf, e.g. the company retained to despatch AIRSHIP. We may also use and disclose information in aggregate (so that no individual members or customers are identified) for promotional, marketing and strategic development purposes. Other web sites Our web site may contain links to other web sites which are outside our control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. If you access other sites using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours. You can find out more about the way cookies work on The Airship Association does not use cookies on any of its web-site pages except those in the Airship Shop facility, where, for instance, they may be used to enable us to simplify the logging on process for customers tracking orders and to help ensure the security and authenticity of users, to provide the mechanisms for online shopping and to enable traffic monitoring by the host organisation.
